Our school day

The times of the school day are as follows:

8:45am to 3:15pm

The main entrance will open from 8:30am every morning. Please remember that unless your child is in year 5 or 6 and has permission to come to school on their own, you must stay with your child until the whistle goes at 8:45am.

Collection/Pick-up changes:

If you are not collecting your child yourself at the end of the school day, please contact the school office before 3pm to let us know details of who will be.

Attendance

If your child will be absent from school, you must contact us. Please ring 0114 266 2977 and leave an absence message or speak to the office team to report if your child is going to be off school.

Wraparound care

Our Wraparound Care Provision is run by an external company - The Lime Trees.

Bookings

The Lime Trees provide a flexible service where you can book the sessions that work best for you via their online booking system located on their website which is www.thelimetrees.co.uk

Please note, these sessions cannot be booked through school. Any booking must be made directly with The Lime Trees.

Extra curricular activities

These are run by a combination of Clifford staff and external companies who come into school to carry out the following activities. Please see below all information about each club.

Please note school has no involvement in A Mind Apart Performing Arts and Arti Kids clubs. All contact must be made directly to the external provider using the details listed below.

Parent payments

At Clifford All Saints we use Arbor as our main form of payment. Arbor is used across the full school and is accessible to parents/carers by a username and password. Arbor is used for school meal payments, payments for milk and trips and consent for trips and visits.

This is the only way we accept payment for trips, school meals, milk and school run clubs.

School uniform

As a small Church School, the Governing Body feels it is important to generate a feeling of community and belonging for the children. Part of the way we feel we can do this is to increase their sense of identity by having a school uniform. This way, the children have a more immediately visible connection with the school; visible to them and to other members of the community.

The Clifford All Saints school uniform is:

A navy-blue school sweatshirt, cardigan or fleece (with or without the Clifford logo)
A white or navy-blue plain shirt, blouse or polo shirt (with or without the Clifford logo)
Navy, black, grey bottoms including trousers, jogging bottoms, shorts (not hotpants or short shorts), skirt, pinafore or leggings
Plain navy-blue, white, black or grey socks or tights
In summer, blue gingham dresses may be worn
Suitable black footwear - this should be safe, comfortable and appropriate for the season. It should not include high heels or platform shoes, flip-flops, slip-on shoes without backs, or other fashion-trend footwear or boots that do not facilitate active play
If headbands are worn, they should be relatively plain
Jewellery is not allowed
Smartwatches such as Gator, Fitbit, Apple Watch, etc – those devices designed to monitor children's movements, particularly those devices able to make or receive phone calls/texts are not permitted as part of the school uniform and should therefore not be worn. This is in keeping with the JMAT Online Safety Policy

Clothing for PE

Clothing for PE is part of school uniform and is as follows:

Everything — drawstring bag (named)
P.E. kit, indoor use — T shirt · Shorts in navy or black · Black plimsolls
P.E. kit, outdoor use — Joggers in navy or black · Trainers

For the outdoor kit you can purchase from most supermarkets.

Don't forget to label your child's clothing, as items do regularly go missing.

School Uniform Policy

School lunches

In September 2014 the Government introduced a policy of a free meal for all infant children (Reception to Year 2). This means all infant children in school are entitled to a Universal Infant Free School Meal (UIFSM).

Junior children have the option to have a school meal at a cost of £2.95; otherwise, they may bring a packed lunch.

Income-based free school meals will still be available for families on low income levels. If your child is eligible for free school meals, school will also be eligible to receive maximum funding to support your child through the Pupil Premium.

To find out if you are eligible please go to the Council's website at www.sheffield.gov.uk. If you apply and are eligible, your child will also be entitled to free milk at break time.

School catering contact

Our current contract is with the Local Authority's School Food Service. The supplier of the service is Taylor Shaw Ltd.

Menus

These are prepared by Taylor Shaw's nutritionist twice a year on a three-week cycle. These need to meet the legal standards for school food. Below is a copy of the current three-week cycle.

Medical diets

There is a strict protocol for arranging a medical diet in order to safeguard the child as well as the staff who manage the food service. We have also attached this procedure for you if you have a child who requires a special diet.

Egg and nut aware

At Clifford All Saints we have a number of children in school who have food allergies. These allergies are mainly to eggs and/or nuts. We know it is very hard to eliminate egg and nut products completely from school, but we do take steps to make our school 'Egg and Nut Aware'.

How Parents and Carers help us to be Egg and Nut Aware:

To support us in keeping all of our children safe, we ask you all to ensure that children do not bring food items that may contain nuts or eggs into school as snacks or as an item in their packed lunch.
- This includes all nuts, Nutella, peanut butter, cereal bars and other foods that list nuts as an ingredient.
- This includes all forms of eggs such as boiled eggs, omelettes, egg mayonnaise or quiche.

What to do if your child develops or has a diagnosed allergy that you haven't told us about:

Inform school if your child is allergic to any other food that we are not aware of.
If your child does have an allergy, please make sure we are made aware of changes to your child's Allergy Action Plan.
Any medication your child may need in school such as EpiPens, inhalers and antihistamines should be regularly checked and replaced when due to expire.
